Garden Design Administrative Assistant – Full-Time - Boston
This full-time Administrative Assistant to be responsible for assisting the Winston Flowers Garden Design/Interior Plant Services management team. We look for candidates with a high level of energy, who can work independently, are self-motivating and who will thrive in a fast-paced and creative environment. This position reports to the General Manager of Garden Design.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to the Garden Design Management team, acting as the first point of contact for all initial client inquiries
  • Responsible to provide excellent customer service, scheduling consultations and troubleshooting client issues
  • Maintains consultation and meeting schedules in MS Outlook calendar; confirming and following up on all client proposals, appointments and plantings in a timely fashion
  • Maintains detailed and accurate client records, including reviewing and reconciling updated orders before posting
  • Review Field Manager’s proposals for formatting, edits and consistency, and send to client in a timely fashion
  • Responsible for ordering all department supplies
  • Assists Managers with special projects and additional assignments as required
Candidate Attributes:
  • Strong administrative and service experience required; experience in high-end retail and/or nursery, horticultural or floral industry is a plus
  • Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office programs and the ability to adapt to internal computer systems
  • Proactive and analytical with a customer service orientation
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities simultaneously and follow through to completion
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of self-direction, enthusiasm and self-motivation

Inside Sales Associate - Full-Time - Boston
This is not your typical customer service position! This dynamic, creative inside sales position is responsible for providing excellent service to our clients on a variety of levels. As a critical member of our sales team, you will assist clients with gift product selection, questions and specific product requests. We look for candidates with a high level of energy, who are self-motivated and who will thrive in a fast-paced, creative environment that provides support, resources, and rewards for excellence and achievement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management process to create custom gift product presentations for clients during telephone sales calls; using a consultative approach to build rapport and present key selling points while focusing on the customer’s needs
  • Effectively upholds the service standards of Winston Flowers by providing excellent service, assisting customers with product selection and troubleshooting client issues, while managing internal processes to ensure timely deliveries
  • Work closely with our Account Executive sales team to provide a wide range of floral services for our wide range of clientele
  • Responsible for follow-up inquiries to select clients to ensure 100% satisfaction.
  • Identify future sales opportunities from day to day calls and communicate these leads to appropriate department

Retail Custom Floral Designer – Full-Time, Newton
Job Responsibilities:

  • Consistently create floral designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for workmanship and cost of goods
  • Develop a working understanding of the basic Winston Styles of design and accurately create gift line designs based on established standards
  • Apply proper flower handling fundamental techniques
  • Meet and consistently maintain required standards of production
  • Successfully interpret clients’ wishes on custom design orders and following up as applicable to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Responsible for providing outstanding customer service and contributing to sales volume growth, and resolving customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
  • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of sidewalk and floral displays
  • Responsible for accurate product pricing and loss prevention
  • Contribute to the consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent service to customers in The Winston Way
  • Assist clients with product selection
  • Design floral/plant product based on associate training/skill level
  • Follow-up with clients when applicable
  • Responsible for accurate product pricing
  • Process register transactions
  • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of sidewalk and flower displays
  • Contribute to the consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising

Seasonal Garden Design Associate (through November) – Boston, MA
As our Garden Design business grows and we prepare to enter our busy planting season, we are seeking creative and motivated individuals to work with our seasoned Garden Design team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of cutting-edge garden design, working with unique plant product and high-end containers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execution of design and installation of material either on-property or at client site
  • Contribute to the consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising
  • Provide excellent service and resolve customers questions and concerns in The Winston Way as needed
Candidate Attributes:
  • Candidate must have basic experience in installation of specialty landscaping, roof decks, container plantings and window boxes
  • Knowledge of annuals, perennials, plant materials, design and horticulture necessary
  • Ability to work effectively with attention to detail in a high-volume environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation; ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

Special Events Floral Designer – Freelance/Seasonal, Boston
This freelance floral design position is essential to the preparation and ultimate execution of event production. The special events production floral designer will oversee product status and conditioning from the minute it arrives at our Design Studio through the moment the floral designs come to life at the event. This experienced floral designer is highly organized, thorough and can react and adapt in a fast-paced, imaginative and creative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Taking inventory of perishable floral product upon arrival for appointed events
  • Check receipts against allocation list as well as events calendar to ensure all product has arrived
  • Responsible for monitoring perishables in days leading up to event and determining and executing appropriate floral conditioning needs
  • Communication with buyers and event designers regarding product status, potential substitutions and delivery timelines
  • Participate in the execution of pre-conceived floral designs for events
  • Responsible for on-site event setup
Candidate Attributes:
  • Previous professional experience in custom floral design is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet high-end floral design needs
  • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
  • Self directed and time efficient, with thorough follow-through skills

Visual Retail Sales Associate – Full-Time, Wellesley
Each retail store will have one designated Visual/Sales Associate who is responsible for all the duties of a Retail Sales Associate in addition to the implementation of merchandise displays and visual standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Retail Job Duties
  • Responsible for providing outstanding customer service and contributing to sales volume growth, and resolving customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
  • Assist clients with floral and accessory product selection and design floral and plant product based on skill and experience level
  • Take an active role in maintaining and developing existing and new client relationships, including following up as applicable to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of sidewalk and floral displays
  • Visual Job Duties
  • Ability to prioritize and balance sales and customer service responsibilities with store visual needs
  • Create store and window displays according to merchandising standards under the guidance of the Creative Department
  • Responsible for new product placement
  • Take active role in setting up daily cut flower tables and responsible for final floral displays
  • Communicate with the Store Manager and Creative Department regarding visual concerns, needs and successes
  • Recognize and communicate product replenishment needs for the store with Inventory Department and Store Manager
  • Responsible for accurate product pricing and store signage
  • Attendance of creative department meetings and on scheduled visit days
  • Regular schedule is preferable to manage weekend preparation and recovery
Candidate Attributes:
  • Experience in high-end service and/or retail industries is required; previous experience in merchandising or interior design is strongly preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
