Massachusetts

  • Garden Design Field Associate – Seasonal (Spring - Summer); Boston
    Garden Design Field Associate – Seasonal (Spring - Summer); Boston

    Job Responsibilities

    • Complete any of the following gardening activities either on-property or at client site on a daily basis: annual, perennial, shrub and tree planting, weeding, mulching, deadheading, bed-edging, watering, soil amending, spring & fall raking and cleanups, aesthetic and horticultural pruning.
    • Loading and unloading of trucks with heavy plant materials, tools and supplies
    • Provide excellent service and resolve customers questions and concerns in The Winston Way as needed 
    • Meet daily standards in all operations, including care of plant materials, supplies and company vehicles
    • Flexible to perform other responsibilities as business needs require during Garden Design off-seasons

    Candidate Attributes

    • Basic experience in installation of specialty landscaping, garden maintenance, and container plantings is highly desirable.
    • Knowledge of annuals, perennials, plant materials, design and horticulture is highly desirable but not necessary. Interest in plant materials and gardening is critical. 
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 
    • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively with high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation

    Miscellaneous

    • Flexible work schedule required including weekend and holiday availability. Candidate must be willing to work outside under all weather conditions.
    • Ability to lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Peak business periods will require extended work days and work weeks.
    • Valid driver’s license required, with a clean driving record. Candidate must be able to drive large vehicles with side mirrors only and utility vans.

  • Client Service Associate – Full-Time; Boston
    Client Service Associate – Full-Time; Boston

    This dynamic, creative client service position is responsible for providing excellent service to our customers on a variety of levels. As a critical member of our Design Studio sales team, you will assist clients with gift product selection, questions and specific product requests via telephone. We look for candidates with a high level of energy, who are self-motivated and who will thrive in a fast-paced career. This is a creative environment that provides support, resources, and rewards for excellence and achievement. 


    Job Responsibilities

    • Utilize Customer Relationship Management process to create custom gift product presentations for clients during telephone sales calls; using a consultative approach to build rapport and present key selling points while focusing on the customer’s needs 
    • Effectively upholds the service standards of Winston Flowers by providing excellent service, assisting customers with product selection and troubleshooting client issues, while managing internal processes to ensure timely deliveries 
    • Work closely with our Special Services team to provide a wide range of floral services for our wide range of clientele 
    • Responsible for follow-up inquiries to select clients to ensure 100% satisfaction
    • Identify future sales opportunities from day to day calls and maximize leads

    Candidate Attributes

    • Previous experience in hospitality and/or customer service is preferred
    • Exemplary verbal communication and interpersonal skills 
    • Ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs, while balancing the needs of the company 
    • Excellent grammar and spelling skills, combined with strong attention to detail 
    • Ability to work independently, listen attentively and respond effectively to concerns, combined with exceptional follow-through skills 
    • Enthusiasm the floral industry and a passion for great design 
    • Computer proficiency and ability to multi task between programs

    Other

    • Full-time position; core schedule will be 9:00am -6:00pm or 10:00am-7:00pm, dependent on business needs, and will include one weekend day. Peak business periods will require extended work days and work weeks.

We are seeking a sales professional with previous experience in luxury retail or hospitality with an innate sense and passion for interior and floral design. We provide unique opportunities for enthusiastic and creative individuals to work a boutique setting with world class product, providing exceptional service to our clientele. Experience in the floral or horticultural industry is a plus -- confidence, an outgoing personality and a passion for design and providing an exemplary customer experience are essential!

    Job Responsibilities
    • Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to sales volume growth; resolve customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
    • Assist clients with floral and accessory product selection and design floral and plant product based on skill and experience level 
    • Take an active role in maintaining and developing existing and new client relationships, including following up as needed to ensure complete satisfaction
    • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of sidewalk and floral displays
    • Responsible for accurate product pricing and loss prevention
    • Contribute to the consistent maintenance and refreshment of product merchandising
    Candidate Attributes
    • Previous experience in luxury hospitality, design and/or retail industries is required
    • Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design is preferred

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide outstanding customer service and contribute to sales volume growth; resolve customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
    • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team by mentorship and personal example; create and promote a productive and inspiring work atmosphere through ongoing coaching and training, including conducting staff performance reviews

    • Oversee and lead keyholder responsibilities: opening/closing the store, z-outs and cash management
    • Perform administrative tasks including staff scheduling, facilitating meetings and processing weekly payroll

    Candidate Attributes

    • Previous management experience in luxury retail or hospitality industry preferred
    • Professional or personal experience in floriculture, horticulture, and/or design is preferred
    • Demonstrated experience driving business and building teams, with a proven ability to efficiently and professionally meet client needs
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
    • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
