    This position reports the Delivery Service Manager and Assistant Manager

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to efficiently and effectively meet clients needs through delivery of Winston Flowers products; including but not limited to small arrangements, party and event set-ups, plant material and large vases and containers
    • Maintain Winston Flowers standards with product quality, accuracy, professional presentation and service at all times
    • Ability to quickly troubleshoot issues and support all customer questions as needed, using judgment, knowledge and internal company resources to resolve
    • Assist in corporate and residential installations and maintenance programs
    • Responsible for time management and meeting all delivery priority time requirements

     

    Candidate Profile:

    • Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record free of violations
    • Good knowledge of the Greater Boston area is helpful; ability to read a map and/or operate GPS unit is required
    • Previous experience in luxury service or hospitality industry preferred
    • Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
    • Self-directed, with strong prioritizing and multi-tasking skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

  • Nursery Supervisor – Full-Time; Winston Flowers & Garden, Newton
    Nursery Supervisor – Full-Time; Winston Flowers & Garden, Newton

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide and uphold client experience standards of Winston Flowers by establishing a strong presence in the nursery and leading a diverse retail team to maximize sales through sales leadership, training, coaching, and personal example
    • In partnership with the management team, ensure outstanding customer service, sales performance and strong visual merchandising presentations standards are met on a daily basis by the nursery sales team 
    • Drive personal and team sales by fostering existing client relationships and building new relationships
    • Oversee nursery staff and maintenance team in receiving and pricing of new plant shipments and coordinate the transfer of plant products from the Nursery to other Winston Flowers retail locations and Garden Design
    • Partner with General Manager to ensure proper business operations systems, procedures and best practices are in place and consistently upheld by self and staff
    • Works closely with the plant buyer to bring in appropriate levels of outdoor product seasonally, and partners with the visual merchandiser to bring in appropriate levels of interior plant product to inspire clients and maintain optimal cost of goods through selection, sales and care of product
    • Create container garden designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, plant materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers design styles and cost of goods
    • Ability to transition to Manager on Duty including opening and closing of the shop, in the absence of General Manager 
    • During winter months, focus of role may shift to more interior plant sales including interior selling floor and glass house


    Sales Responsibilities

    • Assist clients with plant and accessory product selection, drawing upon strong horticultural knowledge to recommend the most appropriate product based on space, conditions and desired aesthetic impact
    • Responsible for developing clientele portfolios; maintaining and developing existing and new client relationships


    Candidate Attributes

    • Previous experience in luxury, hospitality, design and/or retail industries is required
    • Professional experience in floriculture and/or horticulture, with a strong knowledge of annuals, perennials, tropicals and garden design is required
    • A passion for exceeding a client’s expectations and developing client relationships
    • Demonstrated experience driving business and building teams
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; detail oriented with excellent follow-through 
    • High level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
    • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively, combined with a sense of urgency

    For three generations, Winston Flowers has been the premier boutique florist and garden retailer in the Boston area. Our company consists of five floral boutique shops, a two-acre garden center and a 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art design center in the heart of Boston, MA, in addition to our newest Greenwich, CT location. From the beginning and still today, our mission has been to beautify and enliven both the indoor and outdoor environments where we live, work, and relax. 


    Job Responsibilities

    • Consistently create floral designs incorporating effective and innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers design styles and cost of goods
    • Develop a working understanding of the basic Winston Styles of design and accurately create custom and gift line designs based on established standards 
    • Apply proper flower fundamental handling techniques 
    • Meet and consistently maintain required standards of production
    • Successfully interpret clients' wishes on custom design orders and following up as applicable to ensure complete satisfaction
    • Responsible for providing outstanding customer service and contributing to sales volume growth, and resolving customer questions and concerns in The Winston Way
    • Perform on-site visits and client consultations to conceptualize custom floral design ideas for commercial and residential properties as needed
    • Daily set up and break down of store including physical transportation of outdoor and floral displays

    • 3+ years hands-on custom floral design experience in a luxury high volume floral shop or design studio is required

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Consistently create floral designs incorporating innovative use of colors, floral materials, vessels and accent materials, while meeting established criteria for Winston Flowers design styles and cost of goods
    • Develop a working understanding of the basic Winston Styles of design and accurately create gift and specialty floral designs based on established standards
    • Successfully interpret client preferences on custom design orders and event work under the direction of the Design Manager
    • Apply proper flower fundamental handling techniques, while consistently meeting required standards of production
    • Participate in daily set up and break down of shop including physical transportation of floral displays as needed
